Since 2011 the Scuola Specializzata Superiore Alberghiera e del Turismo (SSSAT) in Bellinzona manages the restaurant and banqueting activities in Castelgrande.
Our aim is to create a practical and learning space for the students attending the hotel section. They have the opportunity to gain experience outside the school environment getting in touch with customers.
The restaurant offer consists in two restaurants:
The Castelgrande Restaurant, 14 Gault Millau points (for up to 30 guests), offers a gastronomic cuisine with mediterranean touch.
The Grotto San Michele – with its panoramic terrace (for up to 60 guests) and the characteristic castle vaulted room (30 seats), offers typical and local dishes.
The banqueting offer is proposed in the Sala Banchetti (for up to 120 guests): ideal location for meetings, coffee breaks, weddings and special occasions.
Since november 2000, Castelgrande and the nearby castles Montebello and Sasso Corbaro are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The picturesque setting is completed by the vineyards that surround the walls of the castle cultivated with merlot grape by the Azienda Agricola Cantonale di Mezzana.
Castelgrande is proud to announce the achievement of the Swisstainable certification. One of the first restaurants in Switzerland to participate in this beautiful project of Switzerland Tourism for a more responsible and sustainable tourism.
